In Geography lessons pupils develop enquiry skills to study places: the human and physical patterns and processes which shape them and the people who live in them. This helps pupils make sense of their surrounding and the wider world.
Pupils will also develop their knowledge and understanding of environmental change and sustainable development. Through their lessons, pupils acquire geographical knowledge and understanding and are encouraged to develop their thinking and geographical enquiry skills.
The tasks set are varied and all pupils are encouraged to participate and express their own ideas with confidence. Pupils’ experiences are diverse. Whole class, mixed ability lessons, individual assignments, partner work, group exercises, role play and discussion. Through participation and taking part responsibly, pupils develop their knowledge and understanding to become informed citizens.
