Year 8 Rugby

The Y8 rugby team played their 2nd and 3rd games this week against Robert Bloomfield and Etonbury. They held their own against a very strong Bloomfield team and despite being a player down they kept the score line respectable even managing to score a try from T Akinbusoye. The game finished 4-1 but we played well and can be happy with our performance. The second game was against a weaker Etonbury side but this time we were two players short. Regardless of the mis-match of numbers we played extremely well and moved the ball across the pitch much better, we led 1-0 at the break thanks to another T Akinbusoye try but eventually the opposition began to outnumber us and despite their try being held up by captain J Kerr, it was awarded and the game finished 1-1. Another good display from our fairly inexperienced side. Next week a few of our squad are away on the French trip, hopefully some more Y8’s will step into the fray.
