Year 7 Football

The Y7 football team exited the National Cup competition, getting a bit of a lesson in team football from Dr Challenors Grammar School of Amersham. After an hour long journey the team struggled to work together on the pitch and were easily undone by some simple passing football. Our opposition were by no means a league above us in terms of ability, as we have some brilliant individual players, however they moved the ball much better than us and easily took it from us when we held onto it for too long. We ended up losing the tie 4-0 but the tie was practically over when they scored their second and third goals in the first half and our heads dropped. Some more positive football in the second half saw us only concede one further goal but unfortunately it came as too little too late. The team weren’t helped by the absence of a couple of key players but the result may not have been effected. Hopefully this display will be remembered by the team and can be a learning experience for our future county cup and league games. Training will continue on Tuesday lunch times.
